Do you want to scale your business?

Updated: Mar 17

I know what you are dealing with as an executive in the home interior or long-lasting consumer goods business. I’m part of the founding family of the international furniture brand BoConcept. We built the brand to comprise +250 stores worldwide before selling the business to a Private Equity group. This was one of the most significant transactions within the home interior industry in Denmark.

Furniture and retailing are in the blood of our family. We have invested in home interior companies, and I also coach and consult executives in the industry.

I spent 16 years across the US and Asia in positions ranging from logistics employee to regional director. I know what it means to perform the tasks involved in furniture retailing or long-lasting consumer goods. In addition to hands-on experience, I hold an Executive MBA from INSEAD and a coaching certificate from Wandelplan in Germany. I work fluently in Danish, English, and German. I’m an excellent fit for a longer-term corporation that makes your business or department fit for growth and earning money.

Development as a leader:

You will find no way around it. To realize the dreams of your business, you must develop your leadership. I worked as a leader and manager on three continents. My hands-on experience and completion of an Executive MBA and certified coaching program enable me to accompany your development. I have gone through a couple of crises in life, and I can say that my inner world is solid, which is the foundation for effective leadership.

Franchising:

We build BoConcept into one of the most extensive franchise systems within furniture. I opened +50 stores across North America and Asia with a mix of franchised and company-owned stores. I have been responsible for all aspects, from finding franchises, negotiating contracts, and location searches to opening and running the shops.

Brick and mortar retailing:

I have experience from the initial greeting of a customer to the sometimes chaotic logistics around delivery and everything in between. Experience from running our shops and supporting franchises running their shops. Be careful telling me something is impossible - I have been there myself.

Setting the proper organization:

Our business was back in the early 2000’s purely a wholesale business. Over the years, we transformed the business into a retail chain of stores. I was responsible for building the organization that found new franchisees, opened the shops, ran stores, and supported franchisee stores. I did this with hands-on responsibility in the USA, China, and Japan.

Financial Planning:

I’m as comfortable with the financial aspects of running a retail business as the consumer part of the business. Budgeting, cash flow forecasting, Investment, Unit Economics, and Business Modeling are all a part of what I do. I have since 2017 also been running the family office of the Moelholm family. I know my way around numbers.

I’m keen to discuss how I can support you in building the business you deserve. You can reach me at kim@houseofbalance.me or directly here to schedule a get to know each other chat.
